The history of home movies has largely been shaped by upper-class perspectives and male creators. Accidentally Cinematic aims to broaden that perspective. We explicitly encourage submissions from minorities and underrepresented communities whose stories and experiences are often overlooked in commercial film culture.
By submitting your footage, you help preserve moving images that might otherwise disappear. Your old MiniDV tapes, forgotten hard drives, and family recordings are more than memories. They are culturally significant recordings that reveal unexpected beauty and can become part of a collective experience in a screening.
Selected works may be curated for public screenings in independent cinemas and festivals. Contributors are always credited and retain their rights. Every submission is treated with care, respect, and contextual integrity.
